A Charming Waltz Lesson (script)
*OOC Note: This is the script for the voice over we are doing.*
[Scene: Ciel’s office, afternoon, with the window regrettably open and a slight breeze rolling through]
Ciel and Elizabeth are attempting to waltz, under the instruction of a (very quiet) Sebastian.
Ciel: (grumble) I don’t see how this is going to help anything.
Lizzie: Oh, come now, Ciel… the ball is tonight! If you don’t learn to dance now….
Ciel: A gentleman needn’t know how to dance. It is perfectly natural for me to stand at the outskirts.
Lizzie: (whining) No! No we must dance together!
Ciel: I don’t see why. Dancing is a frivolous nonsense.
Lizzie: (starts to cry)
Ciel: Oh, blast. (scowls) Don’t… don’t cry, Lizzie.
Lizzie: (keeps crying)
Ciel: I… I’m sorry. I will buy you a… a bonnet or something.
Lizzie: (sniffling) A lady cannot be tempted by material things!
Ciel: Sebastian, go out and buy the frilliest bonnet you can possibly find. (pause) He’s awfully quiet today. (looks back at Lizzie) Sigh. Fine, I’ll do it. I’ll do this stupid dance thing.
Lizzie: (sniffle) Really? You’ll really dance with me, my Ciel?
Ciel: Yes, if I must. I really don’t understand why you enjoy this sort of torture.
Lizzie: Oh, but Ciel… dancing can be so romantic! It’s one of the loveliest things in the world, I might imagine. (happily) Oh, I’m so happy! (squeezes him)
Ciel: (makes a displeased sound) Right, of course. Now stop squeezing me. You can’t very well dance like that.
Lizzie: (stops hugging) Oh! Yes… (giggle)
(Sebastian arrives back with a fluffy dress)
Lizzie: (gasps) Oh! Oh my! It… it’s…. it’s SO ADORABLE! Oh! Thank you! (remembering) Um… I… I mean… a lady doesn’t need…. Um….
Ciel: I thought as much. I will take my leave now, as I have suitably paid my debts.
Lizzie: No! No amount of finery is as wonderful as my Ciel dancing with me!
Ciel: I would say that is debatable.
